Flying Moleskin - Lisbon, Portugal

Lisbon, Portugal
acrylic 7.5"x10"
This is my contribution to the Flying Moleskins project for Vern Schwarz's book. When I first came across Vern's blog and became aware of his wonderful work, he was in the process of painting a large scene of Lisbon - actually just the other side of the large archway looking out through it, and since we love Lisbon, I thought I'd do a painting of it as well.

This looks great Edward...funny that the image appears more saturated here on your site than on The Flying Moleskins...I like them both!

What a great scene. I love the subtle background and the strong colors of the trams. The bold yellow brings it all together.

Hi Edward! I've passed along the Sunshine Blogger award to you that I received from Lisa Riehl. I rarely take the time to do these things, but it has been quite a while since I told my fellow artists how much joy & inspiration they bring me. Congrats, you can visit my site to retrieve it!

Ed, I love this painting, and can hardly wait to see it in person. Thank you so much. You put a lot of work into this piece, and it really shows through. Rose and I forgot about these old streetcars, so thanks for rekindling the memory. We too loved Lisbon, and really look forward to visiting there again sometime.
