What a great portrait, Edward. Laura looks so happy, and Lucky is such a cutie. Like Irit already mentioned, I thought this was a photo at first glance.

Be well!

A truly beautiful piece, Edward! I like how you have presented the focal area! Everything else is played down by degrees yet wonderfully done.

OMG Edward!!! This is why you've been busy! I agree with Irit! Like a Master's portrait with the backlighting and the composition.

You're right the little pooch is a smiling sweetie! I'm sure the recipient AND the giver are going to be delighted!!!

Ed, looking over the comments for this piece, it's difficult to find new words of praise...allthe OMG, Gees, Wows and Gollys have been taken...I'm left with "Woooooooo, Dude, this so Far Out". Amazing work...and, I too, was gonna ask what kind of film you used for the photo.

Like everyone else, I thought it was a photo too. Although I'm sure the photo you painted from would disappoint us if we saw it. I'm always attracted to images lit from behind. You did a wonderful job with this difficult lighting and captured that wonderful glow of light. Bravo!
