Karin's Jack

8"x8" oil on canvas
One of my favorite artists, Karin Jurick , has set up a new website, Different Strokes From Different Folks , where once a week she will post a photograph on the site and invite artists to take that photo and do a version of it in their own style. This is my version of the first posting, Karin's beloved dog, Jack.
SOLD
30% of the sale of this painting will be donated to the ASPCA in memory of Jack.

Hi Edward.

Just wanted to say how much I admire your portrait of Jack. Very nice.

I like your version of Karin's "Jack" the best (thus far). The photo wasn't the greatest and I think you actually improved on it! You really captured the angle of the glint in his eye and the triangle of whites (nose to paws) moves the eye around the center nicely. The green couch (without the distracting wrinkles) gives an overall warmth and complement to his ruddy fur. Well done! I think Karin should buy this from you herself.
